Hi YK, We should confirm 2 items first. As you know, the Netflix tester will verify all NTS items. Their review is stricter than 3PL's, So we should let them run SKB FW smoothly overseas. 1. Can SKB FW run oversea? As you know, there is a network reset function. How can we login SKB account and without network reset feature oversea? 2. Which mode should we test? Real/Fix? I think we should run it under fix mode, because field user will use fix mode. Please check it with Amlogic first, as you know, other OS 12 vendors use real mode to pass NTS, Thanks, Jason |

Hi Woonshin, First, I checked this issue with our QA, our QA checked the test item on NTS site, and made the screenshot to me. Then our QA reconfirmed it with Amlogic FAE who is in charge of Netflix certification. Amlogic FAE said the Netflix must be preload. Hi YK, Before we do NTS pre-test, Please let us know how to fix the space issue. I have one question, the root cause of space issue is that Sptek added the 2nd webview/TrichromeWebView. Can SPTEK compress it? I checked the git log of vendor/skb/prebuilts/skb_webview. I found that SPTEK modified the package name of 2nd webview/TrichromeWebView. Does this mean they have the source code? If they have the source code, I think they can make Stub apk of these 2 apps? There is a android tool (androidmk) to translate Anroid.mk to Android.bp. I wrote LOCAL_COMPRESSED_MODULE in Android.mk and use androidmk tool to translate it to Android.bp. Hi YK, Have you built the compress webview FW on your side? I've confirmed the compress/stub webview has been include in FW, but after booting device, the 2nd webview doesn't active. I checked the log, there is a signatures matching issue. Reconcile failed: Package com.google.android.webview.debug signatures do not match previously installed version the LOCAL_CERTIFICATE of skb_TrichromeLibrary.apk and skb_TrichromeLibrary is PRESIGNED (vendor/skb/prebuilts/skb_webview/Android.mk) but LOCAL_CERTIFICATE of the stub app are platform Please check it with SPTEK, the LOCAL_CERTIFICATE of compressed and stub must match. Hi YK, I just discussed the next action with AML Taiwan FAE who is responsible for our other NTS projects. He said he is not in charge of SKB project. As far as he knows, After SKB finished the meeting with Netflix, Netflix will contact manufacturer directly, because Netflix also want to check the progress. (Netflix will care about the spec, test case, launch time) We have not received notification from Netflix. Can you also confirm with the Korean AML whether this process is correct? Thanks, Jason |

I'll push the SPTEK again during the today meeting There are two webviews ( SPTEK's custom webview / google webview ) Even if one of the two is removed, it will operate normally and there will be no apparent problem ( FYI, there was a problem with the custom webview before, so Google webview was activated automatically.) Our project can also be seen on NTS site. - install NTS11 ,starts NTS testing this week 3. Hi YK, Please let us know how to solve the following issue, 1. space issue 2. How to test it with Taiwan network. Our QA will pre test it, and I saw the Netflix PEM assigned Taiwanese engineer to work with us. The official certification will performed in Taiwan. We can not use VPN, because Netflix is streaming app. The test case will check some media performance, such as frame drop. we need to use smooth network. Please let us know how to remove network reset, and some DNS checking function in HomeUI. In other word, the HomeUI must be smooth overseas. Netflix will also check SKB UI, so we can not stay in login screen and use blue 1238 for testing. Thanks, Jason |

NTS will be certificated in HomeUI (based on our previous experience, if persist.sys.skb.mode is 1, we should use Taiwan network, but SKB UI doesn't support oversea network) The difference is Google auto test can be certificated in Login UI, we can use Taiwan network (persist.sys.skb.mode 1) to test it. But Netflix must be certificated with HomeUI, if we want to use HomeUI, we must use the VPN. but VPN network speed will impact Netflix playback performance. so Please let us know how to use HomeUI with Taiwan network. >>And please update the progress of Netflix. Netflix PEM asked us to re-created new projects last week. so we recreated it last Sunday, we just got the approval yesterday (11/27). The model group is changed from SMART3 to SMART3-BFX. Hi Jason In the case of SKB hybrid STB, Access is not available in Taiwan so the HomeUI of STB cannot be displayed In order to operate normally in Taiwan, a specific IP must be added to SKB's white list So please let me know the public IPs that Netflix/FXN is using (testing). Hi YK, Can we login with Korean VPN, but after login, we can use Taiwan network (oversea network), without network reset? (like previous VCS version) If so, we could give the signed-in box to Netflix/Amlogic. Hi Jason The feedback from SKB is as follows - When testing Netflix, proceed with the test after connecting to the VPN. (Other manufacturers are also conducting tests using VPNs, and no VPN-related issues have been reported yet.) - It is not possible to add MAC to whitelist. it is possible only with public IP. First of all, please connect to Korea using VPN equipment and then test Netflix. If an issue due to the use of VPN is observed, please explain the issue in detail. Hi Jason I am updating the situation until yesterday. * UI537 HomeUI not displayed overseas - Possible with VPN, but you're saying it's slow. - SKB have to open a specific IP to display UI537 overseas but IP opening is not possible in SKB due to security issues SKB tells us to use VPN * UI541(VCS), Home UI is displayed overseas - Netflix will eventually be applied to OS12 VCS model ( SPTEK is working on it, but there is no schedule (about 1Q of next year) So we can't wait to apply VCS to OS12 Please let me know if there is any way to do the NTS test. Hi YK, Our QA tested nts-01, but we can not get 4K content from Netflix. After we set the hwcomposer to Real mode (setprop persist.sys.skb.mode 1 and reboot), we can get 4K content. Please help us check it with Korean AML. As far as we know, SKB's UI must be performed under Fix mode. And we implemented simple switch (We only create a new corresponding Hw composer instance without changing any Amlogic code logic). Please check it with Amlogic that the Netflix can be certified under Fix mode. Thanks, Jason |

Hi YK, Our QA visited to Amlogic office today. Amlogic Taiwan FAE think the following issue impact current test. 1. Real mode/fix mode issue. As you know, SKB UI only support fix mode, but when we use fix mode, we can not receive Netflix 4K content. According to your comment, we use real mode to test. but during testing, there are many test item change the resolution or need to plug out/in hdmi After pluging in/out hdmi cable, the resolution will change from 4K to 1080. (this will impact test) 2. SKB UI doesn't support HDR (Please refer to HDR-always,jpg) Has SKB discussed it with Netflix? or get waiver ? Amlogic Taiwan think this is a issue. because the UI is not HDR, we can not test some items. Amlogic Taiwan FAE said we should clarify it first, Because this will impact the test. This year, Netflix changed the test equipment from Rae Box to Eleven. Normally, we should see the "Eleven Order Form" button on NTS site and we need to request it. But we can not found this UI entry on NTS site, so we checked it with Netflix Taiwan Engineer. She said Netflix is on quite period (US national holiday). they will resume on 1/6 and handle this request. so currently, our QA visited Amlogic office and used Amlogic's eleven device for testing. Amlogic Taiwan will support us until we get the eleven device. The calibration failure was tested by eleven device this Tue. >>3. Hi YK, I just checked the Amlogic's for-test-do-not-merge-0001-franklin-change-size-of-FixedSizeMode-from-1920-1080.patch. Currently, we can get 4K content in Fix mode, but there are 2 obvious problem. 1) if we set resolution as 1080, when we play the "house of card", we receive the 4K content. (eagle_with1226patch.jpg) I've compared it with other platform, if we set the resolution as 1080, the resolution we received is HD. (other_platform.jpg) 2) if we set resolution as 1080 in fix mode, after reboot device, the resolution change back to auto. Thanks, Jason |

Hi YK, Do you know which RCU that SKB want to use in Netflix. On PDM site, we need to upload RCU artwork, and provide the pairing screen. As far as I know, there MUST be a Netflix button on RCU, but, the BA- series RCUs don't have NETFLIX button. It's business topic, we don't know any discussion between SKB and Netflix. In previously discussion on Wechat, Mr. Yoon said we can register BA03 on PDM. But In the recently ticket, https://btracker-cns.fii-foxconn.com/vaas/view.php?id=1879 it looks like there will be a Netflix button on SA02 RCU. Is it correct? so which type RCU should we register on PDM. if we need to change the RCU to SA02, How to handle the pairing screen. As you know, the RCU currently on paring screen is BA* series. It never work as "Original Ratio" and always work as "Full screen size". I heard it was reverted due to Netflix certification. Could you please check it with priority? Thank you. Sangmin Choi. |
